A huge bouquet of roses to Hub City RV, where we recently purchased our second used recreational vehicle. A thorough inspection of our RV at time of purchase revealed a roof situation which would require replacing the roof in just two or three years. Hub City took it upon themselves to replace the entire roof, as new, with no expense to us. In RV language, we would call that going the extra mile for their customers.

A couple months ago I bought an aging but well-maintained 1987, 11.5ft Bigfoot camper with an equally well-kept 87' Chevy pickup from Hub City RV near Parksville. I didn't plan to use the camper until May, so I offloaded and parked in my yard in Nanaimo while waiting for the weather to clear for my road trip across the United States.
Ready to hit the road on May 5, I loaded up the camper and took it to Hub City where manager Gord Bragg had promised to de-winterize it and do a pre-trip inspection as part of our deal. The inspector went well until we found evidence of a leak: wet floorboards beneath the bathroom. Gord and his crew carefully checked all the plumbing, pulled and inspected the water heater, and then began methodically taking the back end of the camper apart in search of the "mystery leak."
Finally, they traced the problem to a poorly designed vent pipe cover. Gord had a new, improved version of the cover on hand. It was installed and the problem was solved. I had started to get nervous as they got into the fourth hour of labour, figuring it was going to cost me something. But when the work was done, all Gord had to say was, "Have a great trip!"
That kind of service, and dedication to customer satisfaction, deserves recognition.
